I am thinking of doing a boudoir or fine art shoot. I’ve never done anything like that and I’m nervous. How does one prepare for a shoot?

If I told you this was about how 80% percent of my emails start out, that you aren’t alone in feeling nervous I would hope that would make you feel like that is normal. It’s not every day that you choose to do something as new and thrilling as getting sensual photos of yourself taken. The 1st thing I will do is just try and calm the nerves and get you into the headspace of planning for a shoot. I’ll ask questions like your favorite colors, and what aspects of yourself do you love or find beautiful. Maybe you love your long legs, nice hands, sexy collarbone or think you have beautiful eyelashes. We can also discuss any ideas or concepts, maybe you just want classic pinup style or have a fully realized idea like wanting to be cute and bake cookies with a sexy apron. Then we will move into discussing wardrobe, location, MUA, and all those other important and fun details that come along with a shoot.

I don’t have any locations or styles in mind. Do you have any ideas for shoot?

Location:

Every shoot is different and every shoot is a collaboration between me and the client. I do have my own intimate studio space that is mainly set up for boudoir and fine art shoots, I do also do studio head shots. For F A M I L Y and other traditional portraits I really love shooting outside, finding a nice open location such as a park, beach etc. Again boudoir and fine art, I do have a studio space but it is also a TON of fun to book locations like boutique hotels, rooftop locations or be truly adventurous and explore the great out doors. So of course I can recommend a ton of locations and ideas for shoots.

Style:

We can also discuss wardrobe… I enjoy traditional portraits where people are dressed nice (or a bit more formal) but as long as the clothes are nice, you want to present your best self. Also that whatever you are wearing is something you like, enjoy and are comfortable in (or can not show that discomfort during a shoot). A dress you’ve never worn thats to tight or shoes that are cute but to small might become more uncomfortable during a HR or more shoot. It’s important to me that whoever I am shooting likes and is comfortable in what they are wearing for a shoot because that comes through in photos. For boudoir shoots I usually tell ladies to bring a bag of goodies, again things they like and enjoy, that make them feel good. We can always discuss things before hand like colors, textures or specific looks/styles. I do LOVE lingerie and could talk about it all day. I do have a little collection of lingerie, boudoir items, pin up style clothes, and fine art props that can be used for shoots as well. As for gentlemen, I’m always a sucker for a nicely dressed man in a suit or dress shirt/business attire. But again the most important thing to me is that YOU like whatever it is you are wearing and that you are comfortable while shooting.

*Check under I N V E S T M E N T for tentative pricing guides and again under BOOK a SHOOT you can email me to discuss locations or wardrobe ideas as well.*

Would I have to be posted on your website or will they be confidential forever?

I would say that 80% percent of what you see on my website are things that I have shoot with M O D E L S…. especially my boudoir and fine art work. I am an Artist who has goals of getting their work into shows and galleries in the future so again most of what you see on my website is my ART WORK. Most of the models I work with do what are called TFP (Time for Print) meaning they give their time for a shoot and I give them photos. There is no payment.

That being said I have all my models and clients sign a contract that explicitly says what I CAN and CAN NOT show. There is always the option that NOTHING can be shown which is what 90% percent of my PRIVATE and paid clients choose.

******I retain the the rights to ALL my images. Period, please don’t ask.*****

Do you shoot men?

YES! I do indeed. It just doesn’t come up very often, I would L O V E to shoot more men. I think any man that wants to do a boudoir shoot or fine art nude shoot needs to book right away. I think it’s a really special and intimate treat that not a lot of men 1) experience themselves 2) get for their partners, since it’s 95% the other way around. I also think male beauty and sensuality needs to be captured and celebrated just as much as women embracing themselves. I am here to empower anyone that wants to explore themselves photographically (tastefully and personal boundaries respected of course).

*Really I shoot A N Y O N E that wants to try a new photo experience and leave feeling empowered and with a new sense of self love for themselves.*

How much are you shoots?

It all depends on what kind of shoot you are looking to do. There is the “Investment” link at the top of the page that will lead you to a tentative pricing guide as again all shoot prices depend on what it is you are looking to create with J.Pace Photography. From traditional portraits, beautiful boudoir to elaborate fine art and conceptual portraits. All shoots do also come with a retainer fee. MUA can be included or added on top, so again please check out the I N V E S T M E N T link here, to find out more. An email inquiry from “Book a Shoot” is also always welcome to get the ball rolling on your shoot. Payment plans are available (just ask!) and we accept cash, checks all major credit cards. A non-refundable retainer of 100$ is required to lock in and book your shoot with J.Pace Photography it is treated as a deposit towards your shoot so the rest of payment is due day of shoot.

*I allow one chance, for ONE reschedule as I know life happens and can be unpredictable. The 100$ is then used as a cancellation fee and a new deposit will have to be made if there is a need to legitimately cancel or reschedule a shoot with J.Pace.

Are you a model or creative who wants to work with me or looking for a regular photographer?

I love working with models and I really see you as an equal creative being and a very important part of the creative process!

I know at this point a lot of us have private websites, Patreon, and OnlyFans sites so if shooting for that and given permission to post a set to my own website, social media, and Patreon site we can work 50% of the photo session fee and 25% of products. I do prefer folx and couples 21+ must be comfortable signing a model release, must be comfortable with some or full nudity shots, local to the area, or willing to travel. *Boudoir, Fine Art, Pole, Fetish, and Erotica shoots.*

I tend to work with lots of new and semi-pro models so if you want to get comfortable in front of the camera, have a photographer that likes to shoot a variety of images so that we both have a lot to work with for portfolios: Portraits| Glam | Boudoir | Pin Up | Fine Art | Conceptual | pole | fetish | Erotica ETC.

I do like to build working relations with models and as I get to know them they truly become my muses, so if we work well together it could turn into TFP down the road, and at that point, I start giving out prints from shoots we’ve done as appreciation for the artist/muse relationship. I like to shoot my own ideas as well as I like working with people on their ideas. I really just like to shoot and create, and just want to continue doing that as much as I can which is what my P A T R E O N is, a way to make photography a circle. To be able to buy more props, wardrobe, and book unique locations or trips for shooting as well as it covers my website, photo shoot, and other online services like Vimeo.

***This also applies to any dancers or any other sex workers. I support you, lets get you some amazing and empowering photos to keep business booming *Also if needed, HMUA can be added for 250$ or book an indulgent session and it’s included
